About us

Our History

The Riverside bakery in Nottingham opened in 1982, originally making pies and quiche for Marks and Spencers and Sainsburys. Over the years it has seen huge growth and changes in customers and product types but today still has nearly 30 years’ experience in creating and baking sumptuous quiche and tarts. In that time, we have become true experts in our craft, producing unique and irresistible flavour combinations for generations of discerning customers, based on original and traditional recipes.

In 2008 we were inspired by the number of great classical and traditional favourites making a triumphant return to modern British menus in the UK’s leading bistros and restaurants: everything from lamb shank to bread and butter pudding! In a similar vein, we decided to produce a new range of quiche and tarts that would boast all of the traditional elements that quiche lovers expect from a great quiche: Farmhouse Brand quiche - simple but tasty recipes, crisp pastry, soft and fluffy custard and made using ethically sourced ingredients, but with a modern twist that we knew would be a hit with contemporary British consumers.
